Privacy Policy

Effective 21 August 2026 Version 1.0 Applies to the cvcraft Android app

cvcraft helps students and early-career candidates build CVs, track journal entries, and keep an attachment/internship logbook. This policy explains exactly what personal data the app holds, why it holds it, and how to remove it. It is written to be read once, top to bottom, without a lawyer beside you.

01 Who this applies to

This policy covers everyone who installs and uses the cvcraft app on Android. It does not cover any third-party service you choose to sign in with (Google, GitHub) or any external website you paste a link to.

02 What we collect

Only the information you enter yourself, plus the technical minimum to run an authenticated account. No location, no contacts, no analytics, no ad identifiers, no crash reports.

Required
Full name, email address, an account identifier.
Optional
Phone number, city / country, headline, GitHub / LinkedIn / portfolio links, and every CV, journal, and logbook entry you write.
Automatic
None. The app does not send analytics or diagnostics on its own.

03 Why we collect it

Every field above exists because the app renders it back to you inside your CV, your journal, or your logbook. If a field is removed from the app, the stored value is deleted with it. We do not keep data on the chance we might use it later.

04 Who we share it with

cvcraft uses two categories of processor. Both are named here in full so you can decide before you sign up.

Cloud infrastructure provider
A reputable third-party cloud infrastructure provider runs our database, authentication, and secure server-side functions, acting purely as our data processor -- it stores data on our instructions and does not use it for its own purposes. All of your stored data is encrypted in transit over HTTPS.
AI provider
When you tap Improve with AI, the specific paragraph you asked to improve is sent to a large-language-model provider (currently Google Gemini) through cvcraft's own server-side function. Your email, name, account ID, and other CV fields are not attached to that request.
Google / GitHub
Only involved when you actively sign in with one of them. They see the fact that you signed in to cvcraft; they do not see any data you have entered inside the app.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or affiliates. There are no advertising SDKs in the app.

05 Where and how long

Your data stays with our cloud infrastructure provider for as long as your account exists. When you delete the account (see section 07) every row we hold about you is removed. A small local cache on your phone lets the app work offline; uninstalling the app clears that cache.

06 Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights. cvcraft honors them for every user regardless of jurisdiction.

  • See what we hold about you — everything is visible inside the app.
  • Correct anything wrong — every field is editable from Settings.
  • Delete everything — see the next section.
  • Export your CV — one tap in the CV editor produces a PDF you own.

07 Deleting your account

Settings › Delete account permanently removes your profile, every CV, every journal entry, every logbook entry, and the underlying authentication record. Deletion is real deletion, not a soft flag — the email is free to sign up again from scratch afterwards.

Deletion runs synchronously and returns you to the login screen once it finishes. There is no waiting period and no recovery window.

08 Children

cvcraft is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children below that age. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

09 Changes to this policy

We will edit this page and update the effective date at the top. Material changes will also be flagged inside the app before they take effect.
